LIB 491 Post

Hello, all!
I have had this blog for quite a while, but I don't use it too often. I've actually used it primarily for other technology classes from the UofM. I really wish I could keep my blog up, but I have never been the journaling type.
I was trying to think of something interesting to post, and I thought I would put something Valentine's Day related since the holiday quickly approaches.
I did some searching and found this great website where you can learn how to make an origami heart. There are quite a few ideas, but my favorite is the "Jar of Hearts" pictured below. Inspired by the Christina Perri song, I thought that it would be a cute and easy decoration/gift! You can even learn how to fold a dollar into a heart shape!

  1. This morning I busted a work study student folding little stars instead of working. I'll give her this and she can fold hearts during down time to decorate the library! Anne

  2. The hearts are cool. I made a stained glass heart last weekend and then when I was doing the finishing touches on the soldering, I heated the glass too much and cracked it. Bummer! I think your paper hearts are much more durable!!!

  3. Thanks for the link! This will be a welcome change for my jr hi kids who are right now very reluctant learners! Maybe folding fingers will be more enjoyable than typing fingers for a day! Could anyone access the dollar bill one? I apparently don't have the software needed.

  4. We folded hearts today in 7th grade and 3rd grade. both classes loved it. We talked a lot about 90 degree and 45 degree angles, makes me feel better to have added some math! Thanks again for the links Christina!
